Description
This is a 1956 Topps baseball card featuring Hall of Fame catcher Roy Campanella of the Brooklyn Dodgers, designated as card number 101. The front design includes a large color portrait of Campanella in a Dodgers cap alongside an action sequence depicting a play at home plate. A facsimile signature is printed across the lower section. The reverse side is the grey back variant, printed on characteristic grey-toned cardstock. It contains biographical information, career highlights through 1955, and complete major league batting and fielding records. The back is decorated with three comic-style illustrations detailing Campanella’s 1953 home run record and his three National League MVP awards. Visible markings on the reverse include the Topps logo with the number 101 inside a baseball graphic in the upper left corner and a vertical copyright line reading T.C.G. PRINTED IN U.S.A. along the right edge.
