Auction Consignment Guide
We specialize in high-quality, in-demand auction items. Below is a helpful guide for what we’re actively seeking, what we sometimes take, and what we do not accept for our in-house auctions.
For onsite complete estates, our process is different, and we encourage estate owners to contact us—we often prefer managing full estates over individual consignments.
🟢 Highly Desired Auction Items
We’re always looking for quality collectibles, antiques, and specialty items, including:
- Vintage Toys & Games: Tin toys, action figures, board games, and model kits.
- Tools: Antique hand tools, machinist tools, power tools, and collections.
- Vehicles & Transportation Items: Classic cars, motorcycles, vintage bicycles, and memorabilia.
- Coins & Currency: Rare coins, silver dollars, gold coins, and collectible paper money.
- Trading Cards: Sports cards, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and full sets.
- Model Trains & Accessories: Lionel, HO scale, and vintage train collectibles.
- Vintage Advertising: Tin signs, enamel signs, promotional items, and soda advertising.
- Firearms & Hunting Gear: Antique firearms, scopes, and hunting knives.
- Sports Memorabilia: Autographed items, game-worn gear, and retro equipment.
- Jewelry: Fine and costume jewelry, designer pieces, and estate finds.
- Artwork: Original paintings, lithographs, sculptures, and prints by known artists.
- Militaria: Historical uniforms, medals, war memorabilia, and weapons.
⚠️ Items That Often Have Low Buyer Demand
We review each piece individually, but these categories tend to sell less successfully and may be accepted only when newer, specialty, or high-quality:
- Small Appliances – We do well with newer/specialty items (e.g., stand mixers, air fryers, espresso machines). Older/basic models (standard toaster ovens, microwaves, entry-level blenders) usually don’t perform as well.
- Non-Collectible Electronics – Outdated or generic items with no collectible or specialty value.
- Ceramics, Glassware & Decorative Figurines – The market has shifted; these typically perform best when grouped into mixed lots and often bring lower bids when sold individually. Single-item consignments are considered only for rare/antique pieces with clear provenance.
- Modern Decorative Items – Everyday home décor without vintage, designer, or collectible appeal.
🚫 Items We Do Not Accept
To keep our auctions focused and efficient, we cannot accept the following:
- Upholstered Furniture – Pennsylvania law requires a special license to fumigate these items, so we do not accept them.
- Pressboard / “Ready-to-Assemble” Furniture – Often bulky relative to resale value; not practical for storage/transport. We do accept antique and solid wood furniture in good condition.
- Most Decorative Knick-Knacks & Modern/Common Glassware (as single items) – These are generally not accepted individually. When part of an estate, we may group them into lots for better results.
- Yard Sale Leftovers – Bulk lots of low-value items.
- Modern Clothing – Unless vintage, designer, or specialty.
- Counterfeit or “Knock-Off” Items – Not accepted.
If you’re unsure whether your item is a fit, we’re happy to take a look and advise on the best path—single lot, grouped lot, or estate placement.
