Description
This lot comprises a substantial collection of assorted buttons, predominantly round and metallic, appearing to be brass or a gold-toned alloy. Intermingled are a smaller quantity of small, round, white plastic or shell buttons. The metallic buttons display various designs, most notably an embossed fouled anchor motif, alongside textured surfaces such as hammered or crosshatch patterns, and plain varieties. Many of the metallic buttons feature shank backs.
Condition report:
The metallic buttons exhibit varying degrees of tarnish and minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The plastic or shell buttons appear to be in good, used condition. The collection is in generally good, used condition overall.
