Description
An antique or vintage open-back banjo featuring a light-colored wooden rim with numerous metal tension hooks securing a natural skin or vellum head. The neck is crafted from a lighter wood on the reverse, transitioning to a dark fretboard adorned with simple dot inlays, and culminates in a distinctively shaped dark wooden headstock fitted with four light-buttoned tuning pegs. A basic metal tailpiece is visible. Inscribed on the head in faded script is “THOMAS JR. ATKINSON / 355 Smith St. PENNA., ” indicating an owner’s name and address (Pennsylvania, USA).
